Close to the Sun - PC
Retired 23rd July
Close to the sun is a game I had on my radar for some time as it looked like a Bioshock game, but without the combat of the Bioshock games. A Bioshock game without the combat and was only focussed on storytelling and puzzle solving was always a concept I wanted to see released as a game.
Close to the Sun for a time was offered as a free game on the GOG Store and as I was already interested in the game I thought that I would pick it up. I am glad that I claimed the game for free as it was not as good as I was hoping that it would be.
Graphically, it does look nice, but the environments did not seem that interesting to explore, the characters were not that memorable and puzzles were lacklustre (from what I played) so sadly I decided to retire the game. It felt a little too like some of the characters were acting like characters in Bioshock - but in a less compelling manner.
There were interesting concepts in Close to the Sun, but it was not compelling enough for me to continue.
