Conan - Xbox 360
I was not sure about this game at first. I had heard that it was an underrated game and some reviews from the time of its release mentioned it was better than it had any right to be.
I only played the game for around an hour and I did just not find any interest that made me want to continue. During the first few minutes of gameplay I thought that the fighting mechanics seemed good, but I found that it did not get any more interesting with progress.
The game plays a little like the PlayStation 2 era God of War titles, but is set in the world of Conan - which is a promising idea that, for me, did not realise its full potential.
I just felt when I was playing the game I would rather be playing similar titles such as God of War I through III, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands or one of the Bayonetta games.
Combat wise there are a number of available upgrades, but I felt Conan lacked from a good balance of elements such as a compelling story, interesting environments, creative puzzles, and a variety of different enemies - which the games mentioned above succeeded at.
It is a shame as I feel that the game had much more potential, but the gameplay just ended up feeling too repetitive with the same enemies and little variation.
