Trine 5 - PlayStation 5
Completed 17th August
Back in June I wrote that I had started Trine 5, but due to feeling Trine fatigue I decided to pause the game and come back at a later time.
Well I went back to Trine 5 and during the start of August I continued where I left Trine in June and since then I have been playing the levels in bytesized chunks inbetween other games, films etc. I am glad I took this approach as I feel I have been enjoying Trine 5 more by playing this way.
Trine 5 seems like it has more of a story than the previous games with more acting included than ever before - on paper this feels like a good idea, but in practice I felt like the puzzle solving and platforming was being interrupted too often.
Also the game seems like it went too intense on the combat compared to previous entries of the series. The combat is fun, but the Trine games have traditionally been more focused on puzzles and platforming with some combat. I feel that the enemies and amount of combat just does not suit the design of the characters and can be a little frustrating at times.
My initial thoughts of Trine 5 can be found here.
