Boxes: Lost Fragments - PC (Epic)
Completed April 11th 2026
I do not really have much to say about Boxes: Lost Fragments. It is a short game and playing it feels a lot like the Room series of games (which is no bad thing).
Like the Room, Boxes, involves a set of puzzles on boxes, which may sound quite mundane, but it is quite a therapeutic experience looking for hidden switches on one of the sides which will open up a hidden compartment where you can find an item that is key to solving a puzzle that you have found on one side of the box.
The game consists of 5 acts which have 4 box solving levels - once each level is completed you will be awarded with an item which will help you solve the hub area of each level. Similar to a game I played earlier in the year, Monument Valley, I actually find concentrating on each area to be a relaxing experience.
Score 8/10
Planet of Lana - PC (GOG)
Competed 15th April 2026
Planet of Lana is yet another game I managed to snag for free - this time on GOG.com.
It feels very much like the Amiga/Megadrive/Genesis game known as Another World (or Out of This World in other regions). Unlike Another World, Planet of Lana is more forgiving and there is no chance of failure after every second step - although, to be fair Another World was definitely ahead of its time.
In Planet of Lana you control a young kid and can make use of her animal cat like alien companion to help solve platforming puzzles and avoid enemies. It is set on some fictional planet which seems to have been invaded by mechanical 'War of the Worlds' type creatures/aliens.
Overall, I enjoyed my time with this charming short adventure. It felt like it was the right kind of length at around 5 hours.
