Final Fantasy IX - PC (GOG)

I have never been a hardcore Final Fantasy fan, but I played number VII on the original PlayStation and X on the PlayStation 2 and I enjoyed both games immensely.
More recently I played Final Fantasy VIII on the Switch and both Final Fantasy VII Remake part 1 and part 2 on the PlayStation 4 and 5.
As I enjoyed Final Fantasy VIII recently I thought I would also try Final Fantasy IX, which was originally released on the first PlayStation console.
When I saw Final Fantasy IX on sale via GOG.com I thought I would purchase and finally try the game.
I have heard many Final Fantasy fans talk highly about the ninth title, many seem to react positively to the game as they mark it as a return to the fantasy setting of the earlier games before Final Fantasy VII and VII ventured more into SCI-FI territory.
After playing a little of Final Fantasy IX I am sad to say that I have not been enjoying it as much as the other Final Fantasy games that I have played.
I think part of the reason for me not enjoying the ninth game is the setting - I guess I am just more into SCI-FI than fantasy.
I am also not really a fan of the chibi sort of design that the characters have, so for that and the other reasons above I have decided to retire Final Fantasy IX.
